Meet Mitch Hunter, Deputy at the Sheridan County Sheriff's Department

Everyone loves a main character, but in Exposure, secondary character, Deputy Mitch Hunter plays a vital role. In addition to being a deputy, Mitch is also Sheriff Sam Winslow's best friend. At 6'4", Mitch towers over his fellow deputies.

Being single, all the ladies love his brown hair and brown eyes, and a smile that melts butter. To say he's a playboy is an understatement. However, when it comes to his job, he's all business. He's been a deputy for four years and is responsible for convincing Sam into running for sheriff. He loves driving his truck, but his motorcycle is his passion.

Excerpt from Exposure:

Mitch stepped lightly toward the closet door, making sure to not be directly in front of it. “Sheriff’s Department. Come out of the closet. Hands above your head where I can see them.”

He heard a shuffling noise and was now certain someone was in the closet. Mitch reached for the doorknob and quickly yanked it open. Inside, he found a man standing there, hands on his head. With his gun on the suspect, Mitch ordered, “Step out slowly. Keep your hands up.”

“Sheriff’s Department!” came a voice from the hallway. Backup had arrived.

Release Day for Exposure, a Coyote Canyon Mystery

I'm thrilled to announce that my newest book, EXPOSURE, a Coyote Canyon Mystery is out today.

Exposure refers to an area in the mountains where the terrain is steep enough that a fall would result in injury or death. Sheriff Sam Winslow hoped for a quiet Sunday night at work. That changed when a call came in about a missing boy on Black Bear Mountain. After finding the missing boy, the searchers also discover a dead body at the bottom of a nearby cliff. Things become more complicated when Sheriff Winslow must piece together how both the missing boy and the body are connected to the thousands of dollars found hidden in a nearby vacated silver mine.

Currently, only in paperback, other formats will become available at a later date. For now, you can find it on Amazon

Exposure - Cover Reveal

I'm really excited to reveal the cover for my next book, the first one in my new Coyote Canyon Mystery Series, Exposure. It's a contemporary murder mystery set in a Colorado mountain town. If you loved Longmire, you also love this series.

Sheriff Sam Winslow, the youngest sheriff ever elected in Colorado, settles in his office for what he hopes will be a quiet Sunday night. Then, the 911 line starts ringing: Lost boy on Black Bear Mountain. With the temperature dropping, Sam works fast to deploy his deputies, the fire department and the search and rescue teams to the mountain.

Fortunately, the boy is found, but a member of the search team finds a dead body at the bottom of a nearby cliff.

Hoping it's just a hiker that took a misstep, Sam immediately starts the investigation, but it quickly gets complicated. The boy and his two friends eventually tell Sam they found thousands of dollars in an old silver mine on the mountain near where the body was found. With this news, the sheriff fears the boys’ lives are now in danger.

To Sam's surprise, an FBI agent shows up to claim jurisdiction and wants to take over the case.

That's not going to happen without Sam putting up a fight.

Exposure will be published by Seventh Star Press and will be released soon. Check back here or my social media for the specific release date.
