Heartbreakers Blog Hop

Welcome to the Heartbreakers Blog Hop.Almost 300 authors, reviewers, and bloggers are participating. The complete list can be found at the end of the post. Many, including myself, are having giveaways, so make sure you check them out for your chance to win some great prizes.

Heartbreakers, we've all had them. Whether it's a disappointing lover or a friendship broken apart, we don't like them.
Even in romance novels, the characters usually suffer a heartbreak before they can have the happily-ever-after ending. It's no different in my current book, "A Kitchen Affair," where Jenny becomes heartbroken when she finds out that Derek slept with another woman. The table also turns when he sees her with another man at an art show.
Whether you use it for a comfort food or as a dessert to share with your partner, this chocolate dish works wonders.
Turtle Cake

1 box brownie mix
1/2 cup water
1/4 cup vegetable oil
1 egg
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 cup pecans, chopped
10 unwrapped caramel candies

Wad up some aluminum foil and form into a ring. Place it in the bottom of 5-quart crock pot. Pour 4 cups of hot water into the crock and turn to high heat.

In a bowl, combine brownie mix, water, oil and egg. Beat until blended well. Add chocolate chips and nuts. Stir.

Butter the inside of a 2 1/2 quart souffle dish that will fit inside of crock. Dust the bottom and sides of the dish with sugar. Pour the brownie mixture into the dish. Partially push caramels into the batter, leaving at least 1/4 of it above the batter. Completely wrap the dish with aluminum foil and tie with a string to make a handle to lift it with. Place on top of aluminum foil ring in bottom of cooker. Place lid on and cook on high for 4 1/2 hours. When done, remove dish, string, and foil and let cool for about 30 minutes. Serve with whipped cream or warmed chocolate sauce.

  4. Cool recipe.
Thanks for the giveaway and participating in the hop!
I think that Christian Grey from "50 Shades of Grey" is a good example of a heartbreaker. He used and abused Ana at first, but then came to his senses by book two.

  6. For me the heartbreaker is a bad boy who goes kicking and screaming into love! When he falls he falls hard!

The only heartbreakers I have encountered are literary! And my all time fav is Mr Darcy! Although, I am currently crushing on Zadist from the Black Dagger Brotherhood!

  17. Thanks for the recipe. My favorite Heartbreaker is the one that your heart can’t live without. One of my best is Lucas from D B Reynolds book “LUCAS” (Vampire in America series). Strong mind, well put together and tender when he wants to be. And loves horses.
